New Taipei CTBC DEA (T1 League) signed experienced 34-year-old Serbian power
forward Nikola Markovic (208cm-1989). He started the season at CSM CSU Oradea
in Romanian Liga Nationala, where he has played for the last five years.
Markovic managed to play in three leagues this year, showcasing his skills on
different levels. In 7 Liga Nationala games, he averaged 4.0ppg and 2.3rpg,
helping his team reach the Romanian Cup Semifinals. He also played 4 games in
FIBA Europe Cup, averaging 4.8ppg and 3.5rpg. Additionally, he recorded 1
game in Basketball Champions League, contributing 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1
steal.
He represented Serbia at the World University Games in Kazan (Russia) eleven
years ago. Markovic's team won Bronze and his stats at that event were 8
games: 6.9ppg, 4.8rpg, 1.1apg, FGP: 56.7%, 3PT: 14.3%, FT: 66.7%. He is a
very experienced player who has played professionally in Greece (PAOK Mateco
Thessaloniki,KAO Dramas, and Panelefsiniakos), Poland (Anwil, Enea Zastal,
Stal, and Trefl), and Serbia (KK Beovuk
72 Beograd, Crvena Zvezda, FMP Beograd 2nd team, and KK FMP SoccerBet
Beograd).
His team won the Romanian League Regular Season in 2023. He was voted to the
Eurobasket.com All-FIBA Europe Cup Honorable Mention in 2021.
