Dear Chester,
Our hearts are broken. The shockwaves of grief and denial are still sweeping t
hrough our family as we come to grips with what has happened.
You touched so many lives, maybe even more than you realized. In the past few
days, we’ve seen an outpouring of love and support, both public and private,
from around the world. Talinda and the family appreciate it, and want the worl
d to know that you were the best husband, son, and father; the family will nev
er be whole without you.
Talking with you about the years ahead together, your excitement was infectiou
s. Your absence leaves a void that can never be filled—a boisterous, funny, a
mbitious, creative, kind, generous voice in the room is missing. We’re trying
to remind ourselves that the demons who took you away from us were always par
t of the deal. After all, it was the way you sang about those demons that made
everyone fall in love with you in the first place. You fearlessly put them on
display, and in doing so, brought us together and taught us to be more human.
You had the biggest heart, and managed to wear it on your sleeve.
Our love for making and performing music is inextinguishable. While we don’t
know what path our future may take, we know that each of our lives was made be
tter by you. Thank you for that gift. We love you, and miss you so much.

我們悲慟萬分。震撼、難以承認的哀傷依然讓我們措手不及，鑒於剛發生的這件
事。
你觸動過太多生命，或許遠超乎你的想像。過去幾天，我們收到了泉湧般的愛
和支持，不論公開或私人的場合，來自世界每個角落。Talinda和家人們很感謝這些心意
，也想告訴全世界，你是最好的丈夫，兒子和父親。少了你的家庭將不再完整。
和你談論過未來幾年的計畫，你的熱忱鼓舞了我們。你的離去，留下一個無法
填補的空洞──一個狂烈、幽默、充滿抱負、創造力、善良又慷慨的聲音不在了。我們會
提醒自己，密不可分的惡魔奪走了你。畢竟，是你唱出那些惡魔的方式，讓我們每個
人愛上你。你勇敢展示他們，也因如此，讓我們團結，敎會我們更多人性。你擁有最寬大
的心，而且從不吝於給予。
我們對創作音樂和演出的熱愛不會抹滅。雖然我們不確定未來的道路，我們知
道，你讓我們每個人的生命更美好。謝謝你的禮物。我們愛你，而且好想念你。
