喬科維奇明年退休？他老爸說出內心希望
〔記者吳孟儒／綜合報導〕喬科維奇（Novak Djokovic）在溫布頓網球錦標賽獲得亞軍，但
他的父親斯爾詹（Srdjan Djokovic）表示，其實喬帥早已滿足他的期待，希望愛兒能在明
年後退休。
在紀錄片「Novak Djokovic – Untold Stories」中，斯爾詹提到，「我對Novak的期待早
在7、8年實現，隨後的一切都是錦上添花，我認為網球只是他人生的一部份，不應該是全部
，我期待他在結束職業生涯，離開網球從事其他事，也能同樣得到認可，希望這一切會在明
年發生。」
斯爾詹認為，現在是時候由新生代球員站在聚光燈下，「對Novak來說，這肯定會發生，但
還是很緩慢的過程，並不是結束，就看看未來一年半的時間。」
「作為一名父親，我希望在一段時間後他能停下來，不要再繼續這一份極度困難的工作。」
斯爾詹表示，「這份工作對身體和精神都有極高的要求，非常有挑戰性，他在過去30年一直
全力以赴，一刻都不敢放鬆，所以根本沒太多時間留給人生的其他事情。」

The father of the 23-time Grand Slam champion thinks that it’s time for Novak t
o have more time for other things in life
Srdjan Djokovic, Novak Djokovic’s father, hopes that his son will retire at the
end of the 2024 season.
“As far as my wishes for him go, he has already fulfilled them all seven-eight
years ago. The rest is this amazing bonus,” Srdjan Djokovic said in Sportal’s
documentary ‘Novak Djokovic – Untold Stories‘. Djokovic is currently aged 36.
“Tennis is only one segment of his life, not his whole life, I expect him to be
recognized for the things he will do after his career ends as well, after he le
aves the tennis world, which I hope it will happen next year.”
Srdjan Djokovic went on to say that it’s time for younger players to have their
place in the spotlight.
“And for Novak to slowly but surely… It’s not the end, but in a year-and-a-ha
lf let’s say… My wish as a father – I think for some time that he should have
stopped working this extremely difficult job. It’s physically and mentally cha
llenging and very demanding – with him being fully dedicated for 30 years, and
not taking his foot off the gas, there is not much time for other things in life
“, Djokovic senior concluded.
In the same Sportal documentary, Novak’s mother Dijana said that she thinks her
son will play for another year or two. “It’s all up to him. As far as I’m co
ncerned, he can retire right now – he has won everything.”
Djokovic turns 37 in May next year. This season, he has won the Australian Open
and Roland-Garros this year, and reached the Wimbledon finals. At Roland-Garros,
he became the only male player to win 23 Grand Slam tournaments in history, bre
aking Rafael Nadal’s record.
Djokovic never said anything in public about a final age of retirement in tennis
. Two months ago, he said for the first time that age was a factor. “Part of me
is confident and always aspires to win Grand Slams and biggest titles in this s
port, but I also have to be humble about the fact that things are a bit differen
t, you know, with the way I’m feeling on the court month after month, you know.
The beating is harder than it was before, physically.”
