Golden State Warriors backup point guard Quinn Cook has had an interesting
NBA journey since he graduated from Duke University in 2015. Cook spent the
most of the 2015-16 season unemployed and wondering whether he would ever get
the chance to showcase his talent at the highest level.

After bouncing around the G League with the Canton Charge and then playing
just 14 games with the Pelicans and Mavericks during the 2016-17 season, Cook
finally got his chance with the Golden State Warriors.

Waiting for him in the Bay Area was a familiar face, childhood friend and
fellow Washington, D.C. area native Kevin Durant.

The two have often spoken about their friendship over the course of the last
two seasons, and Cook voiced his excitement at the possibility of Durant
making his return in Game 5 on Monday night. In an article by Marc Berman of
the New York Post, Cook was quoted as saying:

“He’s been putting he work on the court – nothing simulates a game,’’
said Warriors guard Quinn Cook, one of Durant’s closest friends. “If

’re a better team when he’s on the floor. It’s not just him scoring,
missing shots, it’s his presence that frees up so many people, his presence
defensively takes us to a whole another level. He’s built for this.’’
KD最要好朋友之一的Cook說:"他總是努力讓自己歸隊, 不單單一場比賽
如果有誰能辦到, 那一定就是兩任FMVP的KD
不單單是他出手後會命中還是打鐵, 他上場就能讓其他隊友們有空檔機會
防守端他的上場也能把我們提生到另一個層級, 他就是為此而生的!"
“We’re preparing with him and without him,’’ Cook furthered. “ I’m sure
they’re preparing for him. It takes us to another level when you get back
the best player in the world. Especially defensively, it takes us to another
level.
Cook接著說:"我們會準備好有他上場跟沒有他的兩種狀況
我確信球隊已經為了他而做出準備了
當世界上最好的球員能回歸時, 我們將會提升到另一個層次
特別是防守端, 他會帶我們到另一個level"
“But it doesn’t guarantee us a win just because we have our best player
back. We still have to execute and take care of 50-50 balls.’’
"但我們最好的球員歸隊也不代表著我們一定能贏球, KD回來後我們還是50-50勝率"
Cook’s playing time has been all over the board during the NBA Finals, but
he made three huge three-pointers to help spark Golden State’s big run in a
Game 2 win.
