〔體育中心／綜合報導〕曾效力於洋基隊的外野手威廉斯（Gerald Williams），不敵癌
症病魔於8日早上辭世，享年55歲。
今年55歲的威廉斯是在1987年大聯盟選秀的第14輪第366位選中，其後還曾效力於釀酒人
、勇士、光芒、馬林魚和大都會隊。他是一名出色的外野手，為期14年的大聯盟職業生涯
中，一共出賽1168場，擊出85發全壘打，打擊三圍為.255/.301/.410。
「洋基隊長」基特（Derek Jeter） 透過社群媒體發布消息，表達悼念：「威廉斯與癌症
奮鬥後不敵病魔，於今早辭世。致我的隊友和我世界上最好的朋友之一，安息吧！我的兄
弟。我的思念和祈禱與他的妻子莉莉安娜和他們全家同在。」
